Water Filtration Systems for Commercial Use —
Hotels and Commercial Buildings.

A single feed pipe must supply drinking circuits to a project-specific TDS target, shower and laundry circuits at below 50 ppm hardness, and HVAC makeup circuits at source-dependent quality targets — cooling tower and open-loop circuits reviewed separately. We configure complete water filtration systems for commercial use across hotels, resorts, and commercial buildings — sized to your zone layout and source water chemistry.

System Configuration Packages

Which of these describes your property?

Three pre-engineered water filtration systems for commercial use — matched to building scale and zone complexity. Find the description that fits your property — then request the full specification from our engineering team.

Scenario H-1

Small hotel, guesthouse, or restaurant

Under 50 rooms · Single-zone central system

  • Under 50 rooms, or a single commercial kitchen and dining space without multiple building zones
  • Need clean drinking water and soft water for showers, laundry, and kitchen equipment
  • One central water filtration system for commercial use serving all points is sufficient
What we do to your water:
Filter sediment and chlorine → Soften for showers and laundry → RO for the drinking and kitchen circuit → UV → Distribute
This matches my project

After you submit — an engineer reviews within 24–48 h. No complete water analysis required to start; send available data and we will identify what is still needed.

Scenario H-2

Medium hotel or serviced apartments (50–200 rooms)

Multi-zone · Separate drinking and service circuits

  • Multiple floors and several water quality zones: drinking, shower, laundry, and kitchen each need different treatment
  • Water is hard or has high TDS — guests notice scale on fittings or complain about taste
  • A zone-aware water filtration system for commercial use is needed, with each output quality confirmed at design stage
What we do to your water:
Central filtration → Zone softener for service circuits → Drinking RO branch → UV → Zone distribution
This matches my project

After you submit — an engineer reviews within 24–48 h. No complete water analysis required to start; send available data and we will identify what is still needed.

Scenario H-3

Large hotel, resort, or commercial complex (200+ rooms)

Full zone engineering · Pool, spa, HVAC, and potable

  • Multiple buildings or wings, pool, spa, HVAC cooling circuit, full commercial kitchen, and laundry
  • Each zone independently engineered to its own water quality requirement and peak demand profile
  • Cooling tower, pool, and potable circuits are separate systems with different treatment chemistry
What we do to your water:
Central pre-treatment → Zone 1: drinking RO + UV · Zone 2: softened service water · Zone 3: cooling / HVAC reviewed separately
This matches my project

After you submit — an engineer reviews within 24–48 h. No complete water analysis required to start; send available data and we will identify what is still needed.

Commercial Building Treatment Train

From one feed pipe to zone-ready outputs — the water filtration system for commercial use and zone distribution.

A hotel or commercial building routes a single feed water source to multiple zones, each with a different output quality requirement. The treatment train splits at the zone branch point: a softened service circuit for showers, laundry, and HVAC; and an RO circuit for drinking, kitchen, and ice machine points.

StageKey Operating ParameterEngineering Consequence if Undersized / Omitted
industrial activated carbon water filterMandatory ahead of RO; EBCT ≥ 10–12 min; carbon media service life 12–24 months depending on chlorine loading.Chlorine above 0.1 mg/L oxidises polyamide RO membrane — degradation is progressive and irreversible; membrane requires replacement before end of design service interval.
Water softenerHardness target < 50 mg/L CaCO₃ for shower circuits; < 25 mg/L for premium laundry; < 1 ppm ahead of RO membrane.Unsoftened water above 150 mg/L CaCO₃ causes scale on shower fittings, ice machines, boilers, and dishwashers; scale accumulation is a maintenance cost and a guest experience problem.
RO membrane (drinking zone only)TDS below 50 mg/L for drinking, restaurant, bar, and ice machine circuits.Over-specifying RO to every zone inflates capital cost without proportional benefit — shower and laundry circuits do not require RO; softening is sufficient and significantly cheaper.
uv disinfection water treatmentValidated dose selected from flow rate, UVT, target organisms, and lamp end-of-life output. UV reduces incoming microbial load but is not a standalone Legionella control measure — building hot water temperature management, tank hygiene, dead-leg flushing, and cooling tower programmes are required separately.UV disinfection is part of a multi-barrier Legionella control approach — UV reduces baseline microbial load before storage, but does not substitute for hot water temperature management and cooling tower chemical dosing programmes.
stainless steel water tanksMinimum 30 minutes peak building demand as buffer volume; split-vessel configuration where plant room dimensions constrain installation.Undersized storage forces the treatment plant to match instantaneous peak demand — high-pressure pump short-cycling and RO membrane pressure variation reduce both pump and membrane service life.

Our water softener systems for hotel duty are configured in twin-vessel continuous-duty arrangements, sized from daily softened-water volume and influent hardness load — not from flow rate alone. A 200-room hotel on 300 mg/L CaCO₃ feed water requires substantially larger resin vessels than the same room count on 120 mg/L municipal supply.

RO for which zones — and softening for which

We do not specify RO for every zone in a hotel or commercial building. The RO branch serves drinking water, restaurant water points, bar, and ice machine supply — where TDS below 50 mg/L and taste consistency are the output requirement. For shower, laundry, cooling tower makeup, and general service circuits, we specify softened water at the appropriate hardness target. The branch point between softened-only and softened + RO circuits is set after reviewing the full zone layout and each circuit’s output quality specification.

Hotel room count to treatment flow reference

A 100–300 room mid-scale hotel with standard kitchen and laundry loads typically requires a total treatment system in the range of 5–50 m³/h, based on guest water use of 200–400 litres per room per day plus kitchen and laundry demand. A 500+ room resort with multiple F&B outlets, spa, and pool circuits may require 50–200 m³/h across the full system. These are starting reference ranges — actual sizing requires the zone breakdown, operating schedule, source water TDS, and building height.

Engineering Variables

Engineering variables reference.

These variables determine the zone branch configuration, softener sizing, RO specification, UV dose, and storage volume for your property.

ParameterTypical RangeEngineering ConsequenceConfiguration Approach
Source water TDS200–2,000 mg/L varies by regionDetermines whether RO is required for drinking circuit and the depth of pre-treatment before softening.Drinking circuit: RO if TDS exceeds 200 mg/L; shower and laundry: softening sufficient at any TDS.
Feed water hardness50–600 mg/L CaCO₃ varies by regionHardness above 150 mg/L causes visible scale on shower fittings, ice machines, boilers, and dishwashers within months.Softener sized from daily softened-water volume × inlet hardness; twin-vessel configuration for continuous hotel duty.
Drinking circuit TDS outputProject-specific; set by local drinking water regulation, guest taste target, source TDS, and remineralisation or blending strategyVery low TDS is not automatically better — remineralisation or blending may be required; corrosiveness and taste both depend on final mineral balance.RO branch serves bar, kitchen, ice machine, and drinking points; softened branch serves shower, laundry, and HVAC.
Shower hardness output< 50 mg/L CaCO₃Hardness above 50 ppm causes guest-visible limescale on shower fittings within months of operation.Softener only — RO not required for shower circuit; softener sizing and consistent regeneration is the critical design variable.
Laundry water hardness< 50 mg/L standard; < 25 mg/L premium linenAbove 50 mg/L, mineral deposits in fabric shorten linen service life and increase detergent consumption.Confirm laundry specification at design stage; premium laundry circuits may require softener output below 25 mg/L.
Activated carbon EBCT≥ 10–12 min; service life 12–24 monthsResidual chlorine above 0.1 mg/L at RO inlet degrades polyamide membrane and affects ice and beverage taste.Carbon mandatory ahead of RO; size from inlet chlorine concentration and daily throughput.
UV doseValidated dose selected from flow rate, UVT, target organisms, and lamp end-of-life outputBelow threshold, microbial load entering storage and hot water distribution is not reliably controlled.UV is one element of Legionella multi-barrier; does not replace hot water temperature programme and cooling tower chemical dosing.
Storage tank buffer≥ 30 min peak building demandUndersized storage causes treatment plant to track instantaneous demand peaks; pump short-cycling reduces component life.Sized from room count, occupancy rate, kitchen and laundry peak demand profile, and building height.
System flow rate200–400 L/room/day; 100–300 room hotel = 5–50 m³/hUnder-specified flow rate means RO and UV cannot deliver rated output quality at peak demand hours.Confirm zone breakdown (drinking vs. service vs. HVAC) and building operating schedule before system sizing. (These are preliminary screening ranges for initial review, not design flow rates; final sizing uses fixture count, occupancy profile, laundry schedule, kitchen peak, storage strategy, peak hour factor, and local plumbing code.)
HVAC & cooling tower waterReviewed separately from potable and service water circuitsSoftening alone does not control corrosion, biofilm, conductivity, blowdown, or Legionella risk in open cooling circuits.Specify scale and corrosion inhibition, conductivity control, biocide programme, blowdown management, and monitoring points as a separate scope from building service water.

Buyer Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Q.01Does the entire hotel building need RO, or only specific zones?+
We do not specify RO for every zone. The RO branch serves drinking water, restaurant, bar, and ice machine supply — where low TDS and taste consistency are guest experience requirements. For shower, laundry, and HVAC circuits, softened water at the correct hardness target is sufficient — this is the standard zone approach for hotel water filtration systems for commercial use.
Q.02What hardness level should hotel laundry water meet?+
We target laundry supply hardness below 50 mg/L CaCO₃ for standard linen quality — above this, mineral deposits shorten linen service life and increase detergent consumption. For premium linen laundry where fabric preservation is a priority, below 25 mg/L CaCO₃ is the correct target, requiring a correctly sized and properly regenerating softener bed.
Q.03How do you address Legionella risk in a hotel hot water and cooling water system?+
UV disinfection reduces baseline microbial load before storage and hot water distribution. UV does not substitute for a managed hot water temperature programme — maintaining storage above 60°C and return above 50°C — or a chemical dosing programme for cooling tower circuits. UV is one barrier within a multi-barrier approach and does not replace a documented building water management programme.
Q.04Can you supply a system for high-TDS feed water or a borehole source?+
Yes. We regularly configure systems for feed TDS in the 1,000–3,000 mg/L range from brackish well or high-TDS municipal sources. For these conditions, RO recovery typically falls to 50–65% and concentrate volume increases proportionally. Pre-treatment depth also increases for borehole or surface water sources, where iron removal and multimedia pre-treatment stages may be needed before carbon and RO stages.
Q.05How often do the main components need maintenance or replacement?+
Under correct pre-treatment and a typical hotel operating profile: multimedia filter backwash runs 10–15 minutes weekly; activated carbon media replacement at 12–24 months depending on daily chlorine load; softener resin service life 10–15 years with iron-free feed and correct regeneration; RO membrane service interval depends on feed water quality and pre-treatment stability; UV lamp replacement at 8,000–12,000 operating hours.
Q.06What factors determine the cost of a hotel water treatment system?+
System configuration and cost are determined after project review — a hotel water treatment system is a site-specific engineering configuration, not an off-the-shelf product. The key variables are daily flow rate, source water TDS and chemistry, vessel material specification, and zone breakdown across the building.
